RuneScape: Dragonwilds Blast Furnace Fuel

If the recipe is missing, obtain Coal, build a Blast Furnace, then check your Blacksmith’s Bench again. Those are the unlock conditions documented by the pellet wiki entry. If transferred coal has not triggered it, a community wiki reports that mining a Coal Node yourself may help; this is a reported workaround, not a guaranteed fix.

For the leather, bring Dragonwolf Hide back from Fellhollow and process it at a Tannery: 1 hide makes 1 Draconic Leather. Iron can come from the Stormtouched Highlands before you reach Fellhollow. The walkthrough covers the quest route into the region.

In Fellhollow, the steel-tier walkthrough shows coal deposits along cliff edges, including elevated nodes. It uses Rocksplosion to bring down the high deposits. The map guide and Fellhollow resources section cover the regional context; the furnace itself is something you build at your base.

Choose a spot with no roof above the Blast Furnace. A convenient layout puts the Blacksmith’s Bench and ingredient storage in your workshop, with the furnace in an adjacent open yard. The roof restriction is a station requirement; keeping the supplies nearby is a layout suggestion.

1. Craft a supply of Fuel Pellets

   Use the pellet recipe at the Blacksmith’s Bench, then bring the finished fuel to the furnace.

2. Check the space above the furnace

   Remove any roof over it before loading a smelting batch.

3. Load the fuel slot

   Place Fuel Pellets in the fuel section at the bottom of the furnace interface.

4. Add one steel recipe to the ingredient slots

   Use 3 Iron Ore + 3 Coal, or 1 Iron Bar + 3 Coal. Each recipe produces 1 Steel Bar. Coal belongs with the iron, not with the fuel.

5. Collect the bar and check your remaining fuel

   Keep pellet stock available for the next batch. Superheat can speed up processing; the skills and spells guide covers the spell.

Gather Corpse Cotton in Fellhollow, then put 4 Corpse Cotton in a Spinning Wheel to make 1 Fine Thread. The database also lists the Advanced Spinning Wheel for the same recipe. Picking up Corpse Cotton is the recorded recipe unlock.

• Look for the bulbous Corpse Cotton plants in Bleakfields Valley, Lake of Lost Souls, Silverthorn Keep, Emberwood and Hope’s Fall. The plants explode when struck, so give yourself room to move away.
• Zogres are another listed source of Corpse Cotton. Choose the plant route if you are still preparing your first steel equipment.
• Keep Fine Thread for weapon and textile recipes. For example, the current Steel Dagger recipe takes 3 Fine Thread, which means 12 Corpse Cotton if you spin it yourself.

The weapons guide covers equipment choices and the materials guide follows the textile chain. Fine Thread, Coarse Thread and Coarse Animal Fur are separate items; only the fur appears in the Fuel Pellet recipe.

The Blast Furnace processes higher-tier materials such as steel, mithril and adamant. The ordinary Furnace uses Charcoal; the Blast Furnace uses Fuel Pellets. Both need an open space above them and can benefit from Superheat. Making charcoal in the Kiln is therefore useful for both stations, but it reaches the Blast Furnace through a different recipe.
